People might be criticising the makers of Bigg Boss 10 for retaining self-proclaimed taantrik Swami Om in the show despite having a charge of robbery against him, but Colors CEO Raj Nayak in an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com said he is an interesting contestant and an accusation is no reason enough to evict him from the show.
Since his entry in the house, Swami Om has managed to remain in the news, whether for his constant sexist remarks or incessant bitching about other contestants.
Outside the house, his brother Pramod Jha had accused him of breaking the lock of his bicycle shop along with three men and stealing 11 bicycles, spare parts, sale deed of the house and some other documents. Swami Om also got a summon by the Delhi court and it is heard that even the police came to the Bigg Boss house to get Swami’s signatures on some legal documents. When asked if such contestants are a dent on the popular celebrity show, Nayak dismissed the thought and said, “Not at all. We take contestants on the basis of their personalities and the contribution they can make to the show. Bigg Boss is a show on human psychology. Whatever happens in real life, happens in Bigg Boss. The only difference is that unless you have different kinds of people, it won’t be reality.”
He added that the content team of the show, which is hosted by superstar Salman Khan, found great potential in Swami. “It doesn’t matter if he has case against him. He is not a convict. So many people have cases against them. At the time of auditions, the content team looks at a contestant they think will be good for the show and takes him or her.”
